Acer Aspire Timeline - Acer has just released the world first Intel CULV Consumer Ultra Low Voltage platform notebook PC in US and Australia.

It features thin light weight profile and "all day" computing thanks to an average of more than 8 hours use on a single battery charge - ideal for serious mobile users and travelers.

"Acer has introduced yet another game changer in the world of notebook PCs," said Acer America's VP for product marketing Sumit Agnihotry, in a statement. "The Timeline sets new standards in both value and battery life, which are sure to be well received in this economy by on-the-go, yet always connected consumers."

The new Timelines ship with a standard 6 cell battery, and Acer has introduced many unique low-power components into the system as possible to extend battery life. In addition, the systems feature a PowerSmart button that lets users quickly access power-saving settings in one easy step.

With the latest ultra-thin design that uses Intel's cost effective yet powerful CULV Core 2 mobile processors, it weights less than 2 KG but delivers a promising performance you would normally expect from a higher end notebook PC.  Acer has given its Aspire Timeline 4810T an aluminum coat that gives the unit a fresh and stylish look while also imparting a sturdy feel to the notebook. The result?  A full functions, simple but sexy looking notebook.

The entry model, the Aspire Timeline AS3810T features a 13.3-inch 1,366 by 768 LED Backlid LCD display, a 1.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, various sizes SATA hard drive, Bluetooth and 802.11a/g/n wireless networking, HDMI output, an integrated Webcam, and three USB ports. The next one up is AS4810T packs a 14-inch display, an DVD writer, various sizes hard drive, and a media card reader.  There is also a more power, more memory, more disk space 14.1" model available.  The higher end Aspire Timeline AS5810TZ steps up to a 15.6-inch display, with 3 GB of RAM and a fourth USB 2.0 port.  At this stage, all Timeline models ship with Windows Vista Home Premium.  In Australia, the first released 14.1-inch model starts at RRP $1699.
